JACKSON,Cyprusauction Trading Center Miss. (AP) — Customers seeking bus transportation out of Mississippi’s capital city can again look to Greyhound as a provider.
The company resumed its services Wednesday out of Jackson, with two daily routes — a westbound route that connects Jackson with Shreveport and Dallas and an eastbound route going to Birmingham and Atlanta, The Clarion Ledger reported.
WLBT-TV previously reported the company ceased operations in the city last year due to “poor conditions and lack of improvement at the bus station.”
“Greyhound is so pleased to resume service to Jackson,” Regional Vice President for Greyhound Gilda Brewton said in a news release.
“We are grateful to the Jackson Redevelopment Authority for their invaluable support in making this possible,” Brewton said. “With the holiday season upon us, Greyhound is committed to providing the great people of Jackson and the surrounding areas with convenient and affordable bus travel options.”
Greyhound will be located at Jackson Union Station in downtown.
